Night Shift Soliloquies (Vids)

So while we sailed for 2 days over 300nm from Grenada to Sint Maarten during the first week of 2021 I discovered that talking to myself, via video on my phone, was quite a nice way to pass the time on night shift.

I thought about editing them, but then thought nahhhh. I thought about combining them into one file but then thought nahhhh. I thought about adding word bubbles or commentary like I do on my IG stories you may see but then thought nahhhhh. So here you go - a real-time glimpse into what I do, and think, and say on night shift from about 1am to 4:15am on January 7, 2021 in a series of 7 raw clips.

If you like - let me know and I’ll maybe put some tiny editing effort into it next time or at least compile them into one file :P

Greg ended up waking around 4:30am and started his shift at 4:45…I was starting to get a bit punchy so opted for bed and missed the sunrise. Fortunately he had his phone handy and snapped a few pics :) I hope all night passages are as lovely as that one (I know they won’t be) and now that I know how well talking to my phone keeps me awake, Greg will likely be getting some solid sleep on the next ones.

Much love,

MH

I was well asleep on the couch by the time Greg took this picture of the sunrise that morning…but I’m glad he snapped it because it’s an apropos close to this little post ;)
